Passive Fire Protection Installation

Keiron has recently travelled to the Passive Fire Training Centre in Dover, Kent, to undertake a Passive Fire Protection Course.
New fire safety legislation requires building owners, including landlords of HMO properties and guesthouses, to take full responsibility for all aspects of fire safety within their premises. As part of their risk assessment process, owners are required to ensure that elements of the building structure are suitably fire-rated. Building Control Officers will increasingly ask for evidence of correct installation of passive fire protection.
As a member of NAPFIS, the Nationwide Association of Passive Fire Installers and Specifiers, Keiron Baillie is now able to install passive fire protection systems in new builds and also during the maintenance of existing properties. He is also able to provide certification of the correct installation of these systems.
Of particular interest to the landlords of HMO properties in St Andrews, many of them conversions of large traditional houses, Keiron Baillie Joiners can provide a range of products, including intumescent coatings, paints, varnishes and natural wood veneers, as well as barriers, seals and door upgrade kits. This would allow the existing traditional panelled doors to remain in the property but be upgraded to current fire safety regulations.
Keiron Baillie Joiners uses fire protection products supplied by Envirograf, a leader in fire containment technology.
