In his spare time, Keiron spends most weekends working on his classic sports car. He has a Mark 1 Ford Escort which he has restored from a bare shell.
The car is immaculate and is Keiron's pride and joy. He was presented with an award at the Scottish Motor Racing Club Annual Dinner – he won the Mark Brennan Ollon-Villars Quaich for Best Prepared Classic Car 2010 in recognition of the work he has done in restoring it.
Keiron competes in the SMRC Scottish Classics events at Knockhill. The Classics have also supported the British Touring Car Championships at several away rounds, including Croft and Kirkistown in Ireland. Kirkistown, a fantastic circuit near Belfast, was particularly successful for him, winning two crystal trophies from the host club, the 500 Motor Racing Car Club. To top it all, Keiron was also presented with the trophy for Driver of the Day.
Keiron had a great season in 2012 with several wins under his belt. He won Class C of the Scottish Classics and was presented with his trophy by Scots-born triple Indie 500 winner, Dario Franchitti, at the 2012 SMRC Annual Dinner held at the Sheraton in Edinburgh.
